FIVE, count ’em Vans
Thank you to all the members for the wonderful participation in the Caravan for Cancer project.
Whether you made a pledge, bought a magnet or had a special project in your chapter, it all mattered. How appropriate we were able to purchase 5 fives…like the 5 heroines of our order.
Our 5 vans were donated to The American Cancer Society Road To Recovery program. Anyone who is receiving cancer treatment can call their 800-227-2345 number 24/7 and request a ride to treatment. The patient must be ambulatory and call at least four days prior to their appointment .In 2014, the Society and their 1500 volunteer drivers provided 47,598 rides to people with cancer in Pennsylvania. Our vans will go to Venango, Luzerne, Monroe, Northumberland, and York counties.
We also were able to make a very nice donation to the Brian Morden Foundation And UpTheVolume Foundation. (more information is on our website)
