This year of service to our Order and our communities carried with it several innovations for our membership.

District meetings became District Events with an emphasis for reaching out and giving back to local community charity and projects within the geographic boundaries of each district.  A wide variety of talent and generosity were demonstrated through the creative leadership of the 34 District Deputies and their members.

Nine Regional Meetings dubbed “Camp OES” were conducted as schools of instruction across the state.  The Grand Officers exemplified the work and the members were enthusiastic and receptive to this major change!  One of the highlights was the demonstration of the Funeral Service which those who are not members of the Order are able to witness.  Another highlight was separate instruction for our male members.

The first Founder’s Day celebration was observed at Dutch Wonderland and was a delightful opportunity to include our family and friends.  Also included in statewide events were a day trip to Fabulous Philly, Crayola Tour, Statewide International Temple Tour, and Shriner’s Hospital Tour.

A Charity Auction, “An Evening with the Stars” was held in April with all proceeds benefiting Juvenile Diabetes!

The year 2002 – 2003 reminded us all that we as ordinary people can indeed accomplish the extra-ordinary by working together for good.  Always place Jesus first, Others second, and Yourself last to experience true JOY!  Shine on and Scatter God’s Joy!
