Delphi Chapter #65

We welcome you to the Grand Chapter of Pennsylvania’s web site.  You will find information on itinerary events and activities as well as our charitable endeavors.  As a member, we look forward to having you attend with us as many of these events this year as possible.  If you are not a member, we invite you to contact our Grand Secretary for more information or to inquire about membership in our Order.

It is indeed an honor and pleasure to be elected to serve Grand Chapter as Worthy Grand Matron and Worthy Grand Patron.  The Elected and Appointed Grand Officers will be traveling across the state to attend the events listed in our itinerary.  We are looking forward to visiting many of our Chapters at their Stated Meetings, attending Regional and Sub Regional Events, luncheons, banquets, teas, Church services and other social events.

Our social functions are open and non members may attend.  Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Order of Eastern Star may attend.  Proceeds from our Caring and Sharing and Homes Committees Luncheons and Bazaars events assure us the privilege of helping needy members through our Fraternal Fund.

Multiple Sclerosis is our designated Out Reach Charity.  This year with a $5.00 donation to Tune Up MS, you will receive a music box pin to wear and show your support.  Contributions will be collected during the 2010-2011 year and presented to the Multiple Sclerosis Society at our 117th Session of Grand Chapter in June 2011.

I have selected as my Special Project, the Children’s Home at the Elizabethtown Masonic Village.  A kid’s pin is available for a $5.00 donation to the KIDS Committee.  We will be supporting the Children’s Home to help them achieve the items on their Wish List.  We will also support the children with needed items throughout the year.

Through collecting aluminum and buying window clings for $3.00, you can support our Educational Scholarship and ESTARL awards.

There is not a member or friend who has not been touched in some way by cancer. We will be selling Izzy and Tickles Bears to give to a child suffering with cancer or you may keep your bear. We will also support the Brian Morden Foundation by filling baskets with games, books, puzzles, toys, crayons, snacks, cards, phone cards etc for children with pediatric cancer in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital at Geisinger, Penn State Children’s Hospital at Hershey, Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia Children’s Hospital.  The Brian Morden Foundation has three goals: Funding Ewing sarcoma and childhood cancer research; supporting patients, family and staff of pediatric oncology units; and providing funding for memorial higher education scholarships.  We will also support the American Cancer Society.

As you read further about the work of our various committees, you will understand why our members are dedicated to our various charities.  Through our labors of love, we reach out to promote charity, truth and loving kindness to ourselves and others.
